Sparta Fire & Rescue is always looking for dedicated individuals to join our team. Whether you are an experienced firefighter or someone with no prior experience who wants to serve your community, we have a place for you.
Volunteer Firefighter
Join our team as a volunteer firefighter. No prior experience required. We provide comprehensive training including Firefighter I certification, CPR/First Aid, and ongoing continuing education.
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass background check
- Commitment to regular training attendance
Volunteer EMT
Provide pre-hospital emergency medical care as part of our EMS team. EMT-B certification preferred but not required. We will support you in obtaining your certification.
- Must be 18 years or older
- EMT-B certification preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Junior Firefighter Program
Our Junior Firefighter Program introduces young adults to the fire service. Participants learn firefighting basics, first aid, teamwork, and leadership skills in a safe, supervised environment.
- Ages 16–17 with parental consent
- Maintain good academic standing
- Attend regular training sessions
- May not enter active fire scenes (observation and support roles)
Administrative Support
Help our department with administrative tasks, event planning, public relations, and community outreach. No firefighting experience required.
- Strong organizational skills
- Computer literacy
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexible schedule
