About Us

Learn about the history, mission, and people behind Sparta Fire & Rescue.

Our History

Sparta Fire & Rescue was established in 1952 as a small volunteer fire company serving the Sparta community. What began as a group of dedicated neighbors with a single hand-drawn pumper has grown into a professional organization staffed by trained firefighters and emergency medical technicians.

Over the decades, the department has expanded its capabilities to include emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, technical rescue, and fire prevention education. Today, we operate out of a modern fire station equipped with state-of-the-art apparatus and technology.

Throughout our history, one thing has remained constant: our unwavering commitment to protecting the lives and property of those we serve.
